Indonesia's energy ministry allocated 16.7mn kilolitres of biodiesel production volumes across 26 producers to implement the 50% blend (B50) mandate, up from 15.6mn kl under the original B40 target. Of the total, 8.2mn kl is subsidised volume for public-service uses and 8.5mn kl goes to non-PSO sectors.
Higher mandated biodiesel volumes add structural demand for palm oil and soyoil feedstock, supporting prices. Funding the subsidy gap from palm export levies also ties palm market conditions to government budgets.
