Indonesia's IESR think tank called for careful economic review of the mandatory B50 biodiesel policy, citing fiscal and supply impacts. It estimates B50 could raise CPO demand by about 4 million tonnes per year, which would cut exports, and warns that export levy revenue funding the biodiesel subsidy could fall.
Reduced CPO exports would tighten global vegetable oil supply, supporting palm oil prices, while uncertainty over subsidy funding could later prompt levy changes.
