ASA chief economist Scott Gerlt reports 23 announced U.S. soybean crush plant expansions that would add about 750 million bushels a year of capacity. Many are tied to renewable diesel projects, though completion depends on policy, permits and financing.
Expanding crush capacity increases demand for soybeans and yields more meal and oil, supporting soybean prices while adding future meal supply.
