USDA's August 2025 WASDE cut the US soybean acreage estimate by 2.4 million acres to 80.1 million, the smallest since 2019. USDA also raised the yield forecast to a record 53.6 bushels per acre.
The acreage cut surprised analysts and drove a soybean price rally.
A sharply smaller planted area tightens US soybean supply and supports prices, even with record yields. Soymeal rallied on separate factors while soybean oil stayed flat.
