Malaysia expects to produce 800,000 to 900,000 tonnes of biodiesel in 2017 from 500,000 tonnes last year, assuming the government implements the B10 mandate this year. Indonesia's output is forecast to rise to 3.5 million tonnes from 3 million.
Without B10, output would stay near 500,000 to 600,000 tonnes.
Biodiesel mandate implementation is a key source of palm oil demand, so B10 approval would support palm prices while its absence would leave demand weaker.
