The US Federal Reserve raised its benchmark overnight rate by 25 basis points to 5.25%-5.50%, the highest since 2007. It was the 11th hike in 12 meetings, and the policy statement left the door open to another increase.
Higher US rates strengthen the dollar and raise borrowing costs, which can weigh on commodity prices and dampen demand for feed-linked commodities.
