The European Central Bank cut its key interest rate by 25 basis points and kept the door open to further easing as euro zone growth concerns outweighed inflation worries. Markets expect two or three more cuts this year.
The euro was roughly flat around $1.04 after the decision.
Further ECB easing widens the rate gap with the Fed, which tends to weaken the euro and strengthen the dollar. A firmer dollar lowers dollar-denominated grain and oilseed prices for import buyers in other currencies.
