A law professor argues that the US case against Mexico's GM corn ban is weak. He notes the 2023 decree does not affect GM corn used for animal feed, which is the bulk of US corn exported to Mexico.
He says the trade disruption concern is overstated.
If the decree does not touch feed corn, the bulk of Mexican demand for US corn stays intact, so the dispute is a limited risk to feed grain prices.
