Diesel futures sold off as recent demand data showed distillate consumption down 12% year over year and gasoline down just over 7%. Trucking tonnage fell 1.8% over two months and US port volumes are reported down sharply as importers pause purchases due to tariffs.
Weaker freight demand and tariff-driven drops in port volume reduce diesel demand and pressure prices lower. Softer goods movement can also cut trucking costs for feed transport.
