The USDA announced the July Class III milk price at $17.55 per hundredweight, up $1.28 from June and the highest since December 2014. The July Class IV price rose to $16.90, its highest since November 2014.
Futures point to Class III prices near $17.10 to $17.80 through the rest of 2019.
Class III and IV prices at multi-year highs reflect firmer cheese and butter values, supporting dairy-based feed ingredient prices, though exposure to China tariffs is a downside risk.
