USDA announced the January Federal Order Class III milk price at $20.34 per hundredweight, up $1.72 from December and the highest since October 2024. Futures settlements point to a February price near $20.11 and a March price near $19.44.
USDA's 2025 Class III average forecast is $19.70, up from $18.89 in 2024.
The higher benchmark lifts the base for US milk and dairy feed-cost calculations and supports dairy demand for feed. The futures curve, however, signals lower prices through the spring.
