Malaysian palm oil futures rose about 3% to a 15-month high on March 30 after Indonesian President Prabowo said Indonesia will proceed with the B50 biodiesel programme this year. Crude oil also rallied as Yemeni Houthis launched attacks on Israel.
A confirmed B50 mandate would add substantial biodiesel demand for palm oil and tighten exportable supply, supporting prices. Higher crude further narrows the palm-gasoil spread and strengthens biofuel economics.
