About
Greenfield Ethanol turns fields of green corn into fields of green money. Canada's top corn-based ethanol producer operates four plants (three in Ontario and one in Quebec) that produce more than 115 million gallons of fuel ethanol per year. One plant also produces almost 25 million gallons per year of industrial alcohol used in paints, pharmaceuticals, disinfectants, and as a flavoring in food and beverages. Greenfield Ethanol buys corn from Canadian farmers, and after the corn starch is processed to make ethanol, it sells the corn back to ranchers to use in livestock feed. In addition, the company is building a cellulosic ethanol plant as a joint venture with Enerkem.
