Malaysia's palm oil industry hopes its new plantations minister will push a stronger biodiesel agenda, including rolling out the planned but unimplemented B10 mandate. Industry players also point to higher minimum wages that could raise CPO prices relative to Indonesia.
A firmer domestic biodiesel mandate would add demand for CPO and could offset export competitiveness concerns, but the mandate is not yet implemented, so the near-term price effect is limited.
