The Kansas City District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is repairing damaged river training structures on the Lower Missouri River after nearly three years of high water. Officials said 50-75% of about 7,000 structures were damaged, causing navigation restrictions as river levels returned to normal.
Emergency dredging and repair work are underway to restore the nine-foot channel depth.
