The EU Joint Research Centre's May MARS bulletin says crop conditions across Europe remain generally favourable, with winter crops developing well. Yield forecasts were slightly reduced for April rainfall deficits in central, eastern and northern Europe and late frosts affecting rapeseed, but remain largely in line with or above the five-year average.
Europe's crop outlook is near average, which limits upside for EU wheat and rapeseed prices. Rapeseed frost damage is a modest supportive factor for canola meal and rapeseed oil.
