Brazil's soybean harvest reached 1.8% of projected area by late January, behind last year's 6.1% pace, per AgRural. A stronger US dollar against the real has raised the local value of exported Brazilian corn and soybeans, and Mato Grosso's harvest is expected to accelerate in late January.
A firmer dollar versus the real lifts Brazilian export parity, supporting soybean and corn prices, while the slow harvest tightens near-term export availability.
