Agri-Pulse reports that Congress could revisit the 2018 farm bill as early as next year, citing the slumping farm economy and climate concerns. Some House Agriculture Committee candidates favor writing a new bill sooner, and the National Farmers Union is developing supply-management options.
House Democrats have also proposed expanded conservation programs.
Possible supply-management measures or expanded support would change future production incentives, which matters for medium-term feed grain and oilseed supply expectations.
