The Landscape Alliance article examines how to secure sustainable supplies of forest-risk commodities such as palm oil, soy, cocoa, coffee, rubber, timber and beef. It highlights that long, complex value chains make traceability and accountability difficult.
Traceability gaps make it hard for buyers to certify supply as deforestation-free, which could add premiums or constrain supply of soy and palm products. The article gives no immediate price signal.
