It’s so cold in Alberta natural gas wells are freezing up, sending prices soaring 72%

Extreme cold across Alberta and much of Canada pushed AECO natural gas prices up 72 percent, from C$2.50 to C$4.30 per mcf, between Christmas and New Year. Freeze-offs shut some wells, limiting supply while demand surged.
