A Mexican decree published February 13, 2023 orders federal agencies to stop acquiring, using, importing and promoting genetically modified corn and glyphosate. Biosecurity authorities must revoke permits for GM corn seeds and grain use.
The decree threatens Mexico's major imports of U.S. GM yellow corn used for feed, which could weigh on U.S. corn export demand and prices if enforced.
