Mexico's National Commission for Regulatory Improvement drafted a decree proposing a phase-out of glyphosate over four years and of GE corn for human consumption by January 31, 2024. The draft is open for public comment with no closing date set.
A planned phase-out of GE corn for food use could reduce Mexico's demand for U.S. biotech corn over time, though the proposal is still a draft and its feed-use scope is unclear, so near-term price effect is limited.
