Grain markets rallied sharply on July 22, led by wheat hitting new contract highs in both soft red and hard red winter classes. Analysts attributed part of the move to war-related risk premium as Russia and Ukraine attack ports and ships, with harvest roughly 70-75% complete.
Export logistics disruption in the Black Sea, which handles a large share of Russian wheat shipments, is reducing available supply and pushing wheat and corn prices higher.
