Gulf soybean barge bids softened on Monday even as CBOT soybean futures jumped nearly 2% on the US-China agreement to cut tariffs temporarily. The US will reduce tariffs on Chinese goods from 145% to 30% for three months, while China cuts duties on US goods from 125% to 10%.
Higher futures and a brisk US planting pace weigh on cash basis, while the tariff truce supports export demand and overall soybean prices.
