Soybeans rose sharply on a 90-day reduction in reciprocal tariffs between the US and China, described as an agreement in principle. USDA data showed old-crop soybean ending stocks lower and first new-crop stocks below the current marketing year, with Mexico buying 120,000 tons of US beans.
The tariff truce reopens the largest soybean export outlet to China and the tighter USDA stocks support prices for soybeans, meal and oil.
