Crude oil futures rose above $85 a barrel for the first time since 2014 as concern about shrinking Iranian exports outweighed higher US stockpiles. Emerging-market currencies were hit, with an Asian currency gauge set for its biggest weekly loss in a while.
Higher crude raises freight, fertilizer and biofuel-linked costs and pressures oil-importing emerging economies, which weakens their currencies and can dampen feed import demand.
