The U.S. dollar index fell more than 0.6% on June 20, 2019 to 96.58, its lowest in two weeks, after the Fed kept rates at 2.50% but dropped the word patient from its statement. Markets increased their bets on one or two rate cuts later in the year.
The losses followed a 0.4% drop the previous day.
The Fed's dovish language raised expectations of lower U.S. rates, which pressures the dollar and can support dollar-priced agricultural commodities. The price effect depends on how durable the rate-cut expectations prove.
