The Mexican peso ended the week up about 0.3 percent at 20.64 per dollar after a record low following Trump's election victory. Analysts at Banorte warned that concerns over changes to US-Mexico trade would keep weighing on the currency, projecting 21.50 by year-end.
Peso weakness lowers the cost of Mexican imports of US feed grains and meal in dollar terms only if the currency stays weak, while trade-policy risk to Mexico, a major buyer of US corn, can reduce feed demand.
