ICRA expects India's Basmati rice export value to rise 10 percent to Rs 25,500 crore in FY18, mainly because China has agreed to import from 14 Indian companies. The rating agency also expects lower Basmati paddy volumes in the current harvest.
Expected Chinese access and smaller paddy volumes support Basmati export demand and may firm prices for Indian rice.
