USDA's NASS released county-level 2016 yield estimates showing record corn yields of 193 bushels per acre in Minnesota and record soybean yields of 52.5 bushels per acre. Iowa and other Upper Midwest states also posted record yields, and Minnesota corn production was about 1.54 billion bushels.
Record old-crop yields add to available supply and weigh on feed grain and soybean prices, though most of the effect is already reflected in the market.
