A USGS EarthView feature uses Landsat 8 imagery to show flooding across Argentina's soybean-growing provinces following heavy rains in late December 2016 and early January 2017. The agency notes the flooding is dramatic compared with a dry January 2015 image.
The flooding confirms weather losses in Argentine soy areas, which supports the case for tighter export supplies and firmer soy product prices. It is background imagery rather than a new supply estimate.
