China has offered to import tens of billions of dollars of U.S. goods, including LNG, crude oil, beef, soybeans and cotton, in exchange for easing export controls and trade remedy measures. China would also send students and tourists to the U.S. The offer is part of a broader bilateral trade bargain.
A binding Chinese purchase commitment for U.S. soybeans and beef would support export demand and U.S. prices, though the timing and enforceability remain uncertain.
