India, the world's largest palm oil importer, widened the import duty gap between refined palm olein and crude palm oil. This is expected to reduce refined palm oil imports and shift demand toward crude palm oil.
Lower refined imports put pressure on Indonesian and Malaysian refiners that expanded capacity for Indian demand, and cheaper crude oil shifts demand toward CPO.
