A Reuters survey of analysts projects Malaysian palm oil stocks fell about 5% in April to 2.77 million tonnes, the lowest since October and a second straight monthly decline. Exports edged up while production eased 1.9% from March to around 1.64 million tonnes.
Tighter Malaysian palm stockpiles reduce near-term supply pressure and could support benchmark palm oil prices, which are down nearly 5% this year.
