The FAO reported its vegetable oil price index fell to a five-month low in December 2017, with the vegetable oil index down 9.6 points and the oilseeds index down 2.2 points. The oilmeal index rose 7.0 points to a 10-month high.
Lower vegetable oil and oilseed prices ease feed-fat and soymeal input costs for buyers, while the firmer oilmeal index signals tighter protein meal supply.
