The American Farm Bureau's chief economist outlines efforts to expand U.S. farm exports through NAFTA modernization, renegotiation of KORUS and CPTPP re-entry. Through November 2017, $78 billion in agricultural products had been exported to China, South Korea, Canada, Mexico and CPTPP countries.
Successful market-access gains would support long-run feed grain and meal export demand, though no immediate supply shock results from these talks.
