U.S. Commodities president Don Roose says northern Brazil's soybean harvest is about 3% behind normal but forecast weather should help. He expects soybean output could rival last year's record above 114 million tonnes.
He also warned Brazil's safrinha corn could come in 2 to 3 million tonnes below the latest USDA estimate, with acreage likely lower.
Expectations of a large soybean crop are bearish for soy and meal, while a possible shortfall in Brazilian safrinha corn would support corn prices.
