Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in the 2018-19 Union Budget that India will liberalise exports of agricultural commodities, which he said have potential of USD 100 billion against current exports of about USD 30 billion. A comprehensive export policy covering logistics is being prepared.
Easing agri export restrictions could lift Indian exports of rice, cereals and oil meals, tightening some global supply, though the policy is still forthcoming and effects are uncertain.
