A KazGrain 2018 conference presentation said Kazakhstan could expand grain exports through Novorossiysk using rail-to-vessel loading and container shipments. Current volumes are about 100 thousand tonnes, with capacity estimated at 1 million tonnes per year.
Improved Kazakh export routes would add future wheat supply to Black Sea markets, but current volumes are small and the effect on prices is limited.
