Russian grain exports in the 2017-18 marketing year reached 39.17 million tonnes, nearly 40% higher year on year. Wheat exports rose 41% to 30.61 million tonnes and barley exports nearly doubled.
Large Russian export volumes increase global wheat and barley supply, which tends to weigh on world prices and gives feed buyers cheaper alternatives to corn.
