Wheat markets were hammered this week as new US tariffs on Chinese goods totaling $200 billion were announced, raising the prospect of further countermeasures that could cut US export demand. Spring wheat crop conditions improved, adding pressure.
Corn and soybeans also weakened on trade concerns.
Expanded tariffs threaten US feed grain and oilseed export demand, and with supplies comfortable, the potential demand loss is bearish for grains and soymeal.
