The American Soybean Association welcomed EPA's proposed biomass-based diesel volume of 2.43 billion gallons for 2020, a 300 million gallon increase over 2019. The group urged EPA to reallocate volumes waived for refiners so that proposed increases are meaningful.
A larger biodiesel mandate for 2020 supports soybean oil demand, but continued small refinery waivers could erase the gains and limit the price benefit.
