Crude oil fell about 1.9% on Sept. 20, 2021, as risk-off trading linked to Evergrande contagion fears hit markets.
Roughly 331 Mbbl/d of US Gulf of Mexico output remained shut in after Hurricane Ida. European gas prices rose as Gazprom booked little Ukrainian and Yamal pipeline capacity, and EU gas storage was about 72% full versus a 5-year average near 88%.
Lower crude prices reduce energy costs and lower the input cost support for biofuel-linked feed products. Tight European gas supply raises energy costs and could encourage gas-to-oil switching.
