ABARES forecasts Australian farm production value at about $60 billion in 2018-19, with crop value down 3% to $30 billion on a 12% fall in winter crop volume. Higher prices for canola, coarse grains, cotton and wheat are expected, with indicative world wheat and coarse grain prices rising 9% and 12%.
The forecast tightening of world wheat and coarse grain supply points to firmer feed grain prices in 2018-19.
