NOPA members reported crushing 160.8 million bushels of soybeans in September, up 18 percent year over year and slightly above August. Soybean oil production reached 1.85 billion pounds, up 1 percent from August and 15 percent from a year earlier, while oil stocks fell 6 percent from August.
USDA forecasts 2017/18 soybean oil ending stocks above 2.2 billion pounds.
Strong crush and oil output with ample projected ending stocks point to adequate soybean oil supply, which is bearish for soyoil and modestly bearish for soybean meal as crush continues steadily.
