U.S. biodiesel manufacturers produced 142 million gallons in September, down 9 percent from August and 13 percent year over year, the fourth straight month of annual declines. Cumulative 2019 output reached 1.32 billion gallons, down 3 percent from a year earlier.
Soybean oil feedstock use fell 13 percent year over year to 599 million pounds.
Weaker biodiesel output cuts domestic demand for soybean oil, a feedstock that competes for crush margins, which is mildly bearish for soyoil and supportive of meal supply stability. USDA may trim 2018/19 soybean oil demand in the December WASDE.
