Indonesia ratified a regulation in late August mandating 20% biodiesel (B20) using palm oil for all vehicles and heavy machinery. In September the government amended Estate Crop Fund rules so it can bridge the price gap between biodiesel and standard diesel across all sectors.
Mandated domestic palm oil biodiesel use absorbs more palm oil and reduces Indonesian export availability, supporting palm oil prices and easing diesel import needs.
