Spot LNG prices in Asia fell as warmer Northern Hemisphere temperatures reduced heating demand in Japan, China and South Korea. Major importers were already well stocked, and oil price weakness added to the decline.
Traders are storing LNG on tankers in a contango-style trade.
Lower LNG and oil prices reduce global energy costs and weigh on gas-linked fertilizer and processing costs, while the weak demand signals a softer global energy market.
