US live and feeder cattle futures dropped to their lowest since July after Trump removed the 40% tariffs on Brazilian products, including beef. The move followed a similar order removing tariffs on other countries' agricultural goods.
Traders expect larger beef imports to weigh on domestic cattle prices.
Lower tariffs on Brazilian beef increase import supply into the US, easing the tight domestic herd and pressuring cattle prices. Feeder and live cattle are the most directly affected markets.
