Bloomberg reports that African swine fever spreading through China is expected to reshape global soybean markets for years. Rebuilding China's pig herd and pork supply is estimated to take three to five years, curbing soybean meal demand for feed.
Lower Chinese hog numbers mean less feed demand, reducing import needs for soybeans and soymeal and pressuring global soy prices over the medium term.
